Maha Sadhana is a 3 hour intensive workshop created by Sri Dharma Mittra. It includes subtle breathing practices to calm the mind, invigorate the body and energize the chakras, as well as healing mantras (sound vibrations) to stimulate the pituitary gland and subtle consciousness. The physical component, stretches, tones and strengthens the entire body. After all that effort you will experience a final guided meditation in deep relaxation – yoga nidra to recharge and rejuvenate the entire physical and mental system . The program culminates in Sri Dharma Mittra’s joyous signature Asana Satsang Jam. All students come together in a large circle for Kirtan (singing) as those that wish to perform their favorite postures as an offering to the teacher, the Higher Self, and each other.
A Seat at the Table
All of the proceeds of this Maha Sadahana will go to A Seat at the Table (ASATT). A Seat At The Table (ASATT) is run by a Core Team formed in January of 2016 with the goal of bringing people of different backgrounds and beliefs together to create a more positive vision of what living with and loving one’s neighbor can encompass. The Core Team is made of up faith and community leaders representing many religious traditions.
ASATTs are informal gatherings meant to connect individuals through guided, intentional conversations. Over a meal, facilitators ask participants to share their own formational experiences, building community across racial and religious differences, while also learning from others in the room.
It is our hope that through spaces like A Seat at the Table, we might build a more united community in Knoxville, made up of many different religious and cultural communities. Our work seeks to further equip individuals to positively impact their own communities. It is ASATT’s belief that relationship eradicates hate and fear.
