Building Compassion: Loving Kindness Meditation with John Blackburn
February 4, 2015 @ 5:00 pm - 6:30 pm
Most everyone is aware of the teaching to love our neighbors and enemies as ourselves. Yet we often find ourselves unable to embody these teachings. The Buddha offered specific practices to move us in this direction.
Explore the Buddhist practice of Metta or Loving Kindness meditation:
Cultivate joy, compassion, and equanimity.
Transform the way you relate to reality.
Dissolve habit patterns that prevent you from living and loving in a wholehearted way.
Utilize the heart’s natural health and wisdom in relationships.
The practices of Metta meditation and Mindfulness meditation support one another. Metta is considered essential for the cultivation of concentration and insight.
Class is limited to 15 students. Due to the progressive nature of this series, attendance at the first class is required. All levels of practitioner are welcome.
Donation-based.
