Lojong: The Tibetan Practice of Mind Training, Online with John Blackburn

May 24 @ 4:00 pm - 5:30 pm

Class meetings will be held on Zoom video platform. The link to the class and course materials will be sent once you have registered.

In Tibetan Buddhism the practices of Lojong comprise a profound yet practical method for cultivating wisdom and compassion, the hallmarks of the awakened mind.  Lojong is a concise presentation of the entire path; it is said that when we practice this, we are practicing everything.  For this five-week class, we will use as a basic text The Great Path of Awakening by Jamgon Kongtrul (Shambala 2005.)  Having a text is highly recommended but not a requirement for participating in the class.  Students may use a translation and commentary of their own choosing. If you decide not to purchase the Kongtrul text, you can read it online at this link: The Path of Great Awakening.  Note that the page numbers are slightly different between the print and online versions.
This five-week class includes teaching, written instructions, guided meditations, and time for Q and A.

This course is offered on a sliding scale with option to invest $30, $60, or $90. Your generosity supports the teacher, the studio, and those of limited means.

Please review our cancellation policy.
