Often referred to as “lazy man’s yoga”, Thai massage offers the same benefits as a yoga practice, but requires little or no effort from the clients.

Kelly will spend the weekend preparing you for working on the back of the client’s body. She will also help you to discover how inverted Thai yoga massage positions, such as plough, shoulder stand and spinal twist, are particularly effective in releasing in the muscles of the posterior leg and low back. A great tool for yoga teachers offering private lessons! Everyone will walk away feeling more relaxed, embodied and inspired by the simplicity, portability and possibility of this work.

Appropriate for all levels. 15 CEU’s for massage therapists!
Class will meet Friday evening from 6:00 – 9:00pm and on Saturday and Sunday from 9:00 – 4:00pm.

What is Thai Yoga Massage?
Thai Yoga massage is an ancient healing art with origins in Ayurveda, Yoga and Buddhism, it has evolved into a unique combination of deep stretching, rhythmic compression, soft-tissue manipulation, gentle rocking, and acupressure. A traditional Thai Yoga massage session is conducted on a thick pad on the floor, and the client remains fully clothed. It is often referred to as “lazy man’s yoga” because it offers the same benefits as a yoga practice, but requires little or no effort from the clients.

This series of workshops is for anyone who wants to learn and experience Thai massage. Advanced practitioners will learn techniques that they can easily integrate into their current massage practice, and beginners will walk away with skills that will make them very popular with friends and family who suffer from typical complaints like neck pain, back pain and sore feet.
