How We Do Anything, Is How We Do Everything: Working With Meaning & Metaphor In Our Practice
In this practice-based series for teachers and students, we will explore how the body communicates to us both literally and symbolically. By examining how we do our practice, with a focus on what the body may be trying to tell us, we gain deeper insight into who we are being in our life, relationships, and work outside of practice.
The body reveals what we are only able to see when we look beyond the execution of the pose and begin to inquire why we do what we do, the way that we do it. A foot that turns out, a rigid neck, a hand that droops or a body that resists folding forward all have stories to tell us about who we are beyond the appearance of our physical limitations.
Students will have a chance to be the observer and the practitioner gaining insights into their own practice as well as developing the capacity to ‘see clearly’ who they a being.
