Deep Rest – Accessing The Body’s Natural Healing Capacity
We cannot be in the present moment and not be in our bodies at the same time. And yet, for many of us our bodies are land mines riddled with unresolved pain and trauma. Deep rest is one of the most important elements needed for us to create lasting peace, happiness and well-being. When the body is unable to rest long enough and with sufficient depth, the bodies natural healing capacity never gets ‘turned on’.
In this workshop students will learn how to practice deep rest teaching the body how to respond, rather than react to life, while reducing the constant busyness of the mind. This allows us to make friends with our bodies and to learn how to inhabit them and our lives fully.
Siobhan McAuley is the founder of The Meaning Maker Movement and the creator of The Process, a conceptual framework that teaches us how to access an internally sourced experience of happiness. Through the lens of The Process, students learn how to develop a daily practice not as something they must do but as a way of experiencing the truth of who they are. The aim of her work is to support others in establishing a practice in which they are their own teachers.
