About Instructor Kelly Hughs, #1255, NCBTMB Approved Provider

Kelly Hughs is a Licensed Massage Therapist, Bodyworker, Certified Yoga Instructor, and Intuitive Structural Body Reader and Educator with thirty years of experience in the field of healing.

Kelly created and directed operations at the Palms of Largo Holistic Wellness Center in Largo Florida for six years. Upon relocating to Knoxville, Kelly co-owned and operated The Center of Rehabilitative Education (C.O.R.E.) Massage Institute for twelve years where she taught students the fundamentals of massage, and prepared them for the national board exam. Kelly also owned Gold Medal Sports Massage and Core Family Yoga Center, where she utilized her skills as both a Sports Therapist and Yoga Instructor to educate her students and clients on proper body mechanics, combined with the many benefits of therapeutic bodywork.

Kelly served as the Director of Clinical Services at Massage Envy Spa at Northshore, located in Knoxville, Tennessee, and at Hamilton Crossings, located in Alcoa, Tennessee. Her position allowed her to make a difference in the lives of fellow massage therapists through supervision, continued education, and compassion.

In 2017, Kelly’s career path lead to Blackberry Farm, a Five Star Resort located in Walland, Tennessee, where she served as the Therapist Manager, overseeing all the service providers at the Wellhouse Spa. Her responsibilities included providing continued education, and development and training of a Five Star Protocol which raised the standards of performance and skill level, resulting in quality service for VIP guests and their overall spa experience.

Kelly has been a continued education provider through the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork since 2016. She currently has five trainings approved to include: The Clinical Protocol for the Psoas (6-CE), Structural Integration-Evaluation and Sideline Protocol (6-CE), The Significance of A Treatment Room (2-CE), The Anatomical Properties and Treatment Protocol of the Foot (6 CE), and Restorative Emotive Structural Therapy (R.E.S.T.) (52-CE Advanced Training).

The development of R.E.S.T. comes from years of clinical experience working with clients suffering from chronic pain. R.E.S.T. supports the client to identify the emotional component which no longer serves in their best interest, along with identifying the distortion of body patterns represented in the client’s posture. R.E.S.T. aligns chronic pain patterns and the emotional component to the area of pain, resulting in awareness of self-talk based on belief systems in the emotional body, and holding patterns created by cellular/fascia memory in the physical body.

Kelly’s extensive continued education include Thai Massage for Head, Neck and Shoulder Pain, Thai Massage Side Lying & Herbal Compression, Table Thai Massage, Reiki I, Massage For PTSD/Trauma, The Immune system: The Mind-Body Connection, Physiology of the Body, Releasing the Psoas, Cranial Sacral I, Myofascial Integration Structural Technique, Sports Massage and Neuromuscular Massage Therapy. Currently Kelly has a home healing studio where she see’s private client’s for yoga and customized treatment plans specific to the client’s whole-body healing needs.
